Cairo - Arab Today

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has expressed Egypt's keenness on the security and stability of Arab countries.

During a meeting on Tuesday with Speaker of the Lebanese parliament Nabi Berri, the president asserted the importance of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.

The president also highlighted efforts to achieve national consensus in Lebanon to choose a new Lebanese president, said Presidential spokesman Alaa Yousef.

According to the spokesman, president Sisi welcomed efforts to activate economic and investment relations between Egypt and Lebanon, praising the activities of the Lebanese expatriates abroad especially in west Africa.

For his part, Berri, who is also the president of the Arab parliamentary Union, expressed happiness over visiting Egypt, saying the coming period would witness more efforts to boost economic and investment relations with Egypt.

Yousef said the meeting also tackled conditions in the region with a focus on Syria and efforts to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis and help the refugees.
