The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is setting the stage for a regional conference on the joint combat against terrorism this Thursday.
The conference will bring together representatives of the GCC member states, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey and the United States, Saudi press agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
Earlier the US State Department said Secretary of State John Kerry will head tomorrow to the Middle East on a tour that will take him to Saudi Arabia and Jordan, aiming to build an international coalition to confront the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
The State Department's spokesperson Jen Psaki said Kerry will also discuss in his trip to Jordan and Saudi Arabia the current developments in Iraq.
