Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar wants people to offer their suggestions to serve the community better.
He made this call here on Monday at the inauguration of the Second Cultural Street Festival at the Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Road.
The governor said that the boost in cultural activities across the Kingdom is in accordance with the Vision 2030.
The Riyadh Municipality has organized the festival, which will continue until Monday. The Riyadh governor said the festival offers a variety of activities and encourages creativity and innovation among children and adults.
“Some of the paintings displayed at the show can decorate the streets and tunnels in the city,” he said, urging people to offer productive ideas for the betterment of the society.
Mayor of Riyadh Ibrahim Al-Sultan escorted the governor in a tour of the entire exhibition area with other guests.
The director general of parks in the Riyadh Municipality, Ibrahim bin Nasser Al-Huwaimel, who is also the general supervisor of the festival, said the activities of the festival have been designed not only to entertain residents and visitors but also to kindle cultural interests such as reading, art, painting and sculpture.
He said the festival, which is being held for the second time, has attracted a larger crowd of people through cultural events, creating public awareness in health education such walking, physical exercises and cultivating useful hobbies among children.
He also pledged pleasant surprises for those who take part in various activities during the seven-day event.
To cultivate patriotism in the minds of the children, there is a corner where young and the old can write few sentences about their motherland.
There are 50 stalls at the show, which would interest visitors to actively take part in games, reading, competing with others in various cultural activities and win prizes.
The director general said the event is open daily from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. He said the event is open to residents and citizens alike.
