The sixth meeting of the Qatari-Moroccan Joint Supreme Committee was held Tuesday at the Emiri Diwan under the co-chairmanship of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Morocco Abdelillah Benkirane.
The meeting was attended by a number of Their Excellences the Ministers.
On the Moroccan side, members of the official accompanying delegation attended the meeting.
At the outset of the meeting, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior welcomed the Moroccan Premier and the accompanying delegation, expressing satisfaction at the ongoing progress in the two countries' relations under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HM King Mohammed VI of Morocco. He noted the positive results of the previous five meetings of the Joint Supreme Committee, which resulted in the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries in various fields and contributed to the development and increase bilateral cooperation.
He stressed the importance of relations between Qatar and Morocco as well as determination on activating all bilateral cooperation agreements.
His Excellency said that the relations between the two countries have been distinguished by depth, mutual respect, convergence of visions in many issues under the extremely grave circumstances experienced by the region, calling for maintaining high levels of coordination and consultation to promote Arab solidarity and to ensure an active and influential Arabic role in addressing the current situation in the region.
Fruitful consultation and constructive dialogue between the two countries constitute the mechanism of foreseeing the future prospects for cooperation relations and exploring ways to cement the base of common economic interests to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples, he added.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior affirmed that the sixth meeting of the joint committee is an opportunity to evaluate and review the bilateral cooperation and to put the signed agreements and memoranda of understanding into effect as well as to identify areas for new agreements.
