Prime Minister Sherif Ismail has called for stepping up efforts to meet the needs of the most needy villages in Upper Egypt.
The government is keen on reaching out for those segments and provide whatever needed to improve the quality of services offered to them, Ismail said during a meeting with a committee tasked with controlling prices.
During the get-together, the premier urged the committee to provide basic commodities at affordable prices for the most needy areas and villages in Upper Egypt through setting up additional fixed and mobile outlets to meet their needs.
Also, Ismail directed Upper Egypt governors to offer lands needed to set up at least 15 outlets in each governorate.
Furthermore, the prime minister demanded activating contract farming to fulfill the domestic market’s needs of basic commodities and expand corn cultivation.
He called for tightening control on the market to limit price hikes, and to keep a tight grip on outlets as well.
