
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Foundation has implemented a number of Ramadan charitable programmes for underprivileged Muslims in a number of fraternal and friendly countries, including Iftar projects in Arab, Asian and African countries, Haiti, the US and Canada.
The projects are being implemented in 41 countries and the number of beneficiaries has increased by 13.3 percent this year, reaching 43,637 with a total budget of AED 8 million, up 3.2 percent from the previous year's budget.
Chancellor Ibrahim Boumelha, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, said that they are used to carrying out this kind of project in a number of Arab and Islamic countries, and others where Muslims live, so as to enhance fraternal ties in the light of the teachings of Islam.
He said that the philanthropic foundation has carried out Iftar projects in nine Arab countries: Palestine, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Sudan, Mauritania, Somalia and Djibouti.
The foundation has also implemented the projects in 12 Asian countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Tajikistan, India, Japan, Thailand and others. In Africa, the project has been initiated in 15 countries, including Ghana, Senegal, Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya. Additionally, the foundation has implemented the projects in Canada and the US, Haiti, Kosovo and Estonia, in cooperation with charitable associations, organisations, and Zakat committees in those countries, to provide the necessary aid.
The foundation has also implemented Iftar projects other countries across the world for the benefit of Muslim communities
