Mansour bin Zayed receives Al Saraj

H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, today received the President of the Presidential Council of the Libyan Government of National Accord, Fayez Al Saraj, and his accompanying delegation, at the Presidential Palace.

They discussed the latest developments in the Libyan crisis.

Sheikh Mansour emphasised the importance of adhering to the constitutional frameworks to reach sustainable solutions which ensure consistency and unity of the Libyans, and set a solid ground to build the required state institutions, as well as to ensure the unity of the Libyan territories.

The two sides also reiterated the need to give priority to fighting terrorism, which seeks to exploit the situation in Libya. Sheikh Mansour emphasised the UAE's permanent stance towards the Libyan people and its keenness to safeguard security and stability across Libya.

He also stressed the UAE's support to any efforts that bring Libyans together and support them to achieve aspirations of the Libyan people to continue progress and development in all fields.

Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Ali Mohammad Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council, attended the meeting.
