Spokesman for the Libyan interim government Hatem Al Oraibi on Friday said his government did not and would not allow any foreign troops to be deployed in Libya.
The Libyan news agency quoted Oraibi as saying that the army liberated Benghazi with no support provided by the international community.
He added that no foreign troops are stationed on Libyan soil or at the country's military airbases. "All airstrikes are being conducted by Libyan warplanes," he stressed.
The French government announced on Wednesday that three of its soldiers had been killed in a helicopter crash in eastern Libya during an intelligence-gathering operation.
