Sheikh Mohammad al-Khaled al-Hamad
Monaco - KUNA

Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Tuesday called for intensifying international cooperation to counter terrorism and crime making the best use of the Interpol instruments and expertise.
No doubt, terrorism is not an issue that concerns a single state, but the world, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled, told KUNA and the Kuwait TV, calling for further cooperation and coordination on the international level to counter the phenomenon.
The Interior Minister made the statement on the sidelines of the Interpol's 83rd General Assembly opened in Monaco earlier today.
Terrorism tops the agenda of the five-day security gathering, as well as the talks held by Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled with counterparts and senior officials from member states taking part in the event.
For Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled, the wide participation in the Interpol's meetings offers "an important chance" to discuss the challenges and difficulties facing the Interpol, in addition to the developments in the field of countering crimes.
He also lauded the exhibition held on the sidelines of the 83rd General Assembly focusing on security information and monitoring, offering the latest technological solutions in criminology and genetic fingerprinting (DNA), as well as other tools for promoting joint security action.
