Kuwait on alert after reports on Daesh plans to enter the country

The Independent "Al-Shahed" newspaper said the Kuwaiti Interior Ministry has issued a security alert after intelligence reports on plans by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)'s group to sneak into the northern borders of the country.
The paper revealed that the Interior Ministry has formed security squads, grouping border guards, public security officers and state security officials, to set up security checkpoints round the clock to seize any suspicious vehicles.
Also, security measures have been beefed up on the northern borders to detect any moving or stable targets and border patrols have been intensively deployed.
Maps attributed to ISIL, known in Arabic as Daesh, and published earlier this year, showed Kuwait as part of the state the terrorist group planned to establish in the region.
Kuwaiti officials often dismissed the threats and senior defense officers insisted on the country’s readiness to defend itself against any attacks.
Several lawmakers and activists called for vigilance against possible sleeping cells or supporters of the organizations.
On Wednesday, Al Anba daily reported that Kuwait’s interior ministry was monitoring some Twitter accounts suspected of sympathizing with the organization.
