Observations on the Omani Penal Law referred by Royal Order of His Majesty the Sultan were reviewed by the Majlis Al Shura yeterday.

The review came at the Majlis Al Shura's 20th regular meeting of the second annual sitting (2016-2017) of the 8th term (2015-2019). 

The meeting was chaired by Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, chairman of Majlis Al Shura in the presence of members of the Majlis Al Shura and Sheikh Ali bin Nasser Al Mahrooqi, Secretary general of Majlis Al Shura. 

Dr Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Zedjali, chairman of the Legislative and Legal Committee reviewed the observations on draft of the Penal Law.

He said that the Joint Committee of the State Council and Majlis Al Shura has held three meetings to consider the observations on the aforementioned draft law.

During the meeting, the Majlis Al Shura endorsed amendments to some provisions of the Tender Law. The meeting also reviewed the issue of flexi work hours and approved the final accounts of the Majlis for 2016 and the draft budget 2018 among other issues.
