Riyadh - Arab Today

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have welcomed the military operations carried out against military targets in Syria, in response to the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian regime in Khan Shaikhoun.
GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani said that the GCC states hope that the US missile strike will deter the Syrian regime from continuing its barbaric attacks on the Syrian people, and its continued violations of international laws, including the use of mass destruction weapons against unarmed civilians without conscience or fear of punishment.
Dr. Al-Zayani stressed that GCC states support the US vision aimed at putting an end to chaos, killing and destruction in the Middle East region, and restoring security and stability to peoples of the region.
He pointed out that the firmness showed by the Trump Administration would contribute to reaching political solutions to the political crises in the region and reducing the sufferings of Syrian refugees who have been displaced as a result of the Syrian regime's attacks.
