
The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has provided logistical support for the Civil Defence Department in Aden.
The logistical support includes the provision of a number of fire trucks, equipment and clothing for labourers in this area, as part of the authority's efforts to promote civil defence capabilities in Yemen, to allow it do its role in the provision of security and saving people’s lives, as well as to protect civilians and property.
The aid was presented to the Civil Defence Department in Aden in the presence of ERC's representatives, Governor of Aden Aidroos al-Zubaidi, and a number of civil defence officials in Aden.
In a press release, the ERC said that it has become a priority at this stage to improve safety, fire extinguishing and rescue services in Yemen, and to support this vital sector with vehicles, equipment and security services.
It also said that in these conditions and circumstances being witnessed by Yemen, the role of civil defence will be important in dealing with the consequences of the events, and saving lives and property, so that the authority can develop its plans for rehabilitation of vital facilities and improving essential services.
