Under the auspices of Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon Mohamed Badr el Din Zayed, the league of Egyptian women in Lebanon, will hold Saturday a reception marking the spring holiday, celebrated back home as Sham el Nessim.
A statement by the embassy said the revenues of the event will be allocated to Egypt's Long Live Fund, children's cancer department at Beirut's charitable Al-Maqased hospital, and in-kind aid to Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
The ambassador, his wife, and Egypt's superstar actor Hussein Fahmi will take part in the event, the statement said.
The senior diplomat said the celebration comes as part of efforts by the Egyptian mission in Beirut to communicate with members of the Egyptian community and support its members to maintain strong relations with their homeland.
