Egypt shares UNHCR concerns over situation in Syria, Libya, Iraq

Egypt's Permanent Delegate to the United Nations Ambassador Amr Ramadan asserted on Monday that his country shares concerns of new UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein over the continued crisis in Syria.
Speaking at the 27th meeting of the Human Rights Council which kicked off here on Monday, the Egyptian diplomat said that priority should be given to end the bloodletting of the Syrian people and consolidate respect for human rights.
He affirmed that Egypt also shares the deep concern of the high commissioner over the ongoing developments in Iraq and Libya.
Egypt and the high commissioner condemn all forms of terrorism and human rights violations committed by all terrorist groups in the two countries, Ramadan said.
He also called for the necessity of ending human rights violations against the Palestinian people.
The envoy also asserted Egypt's commitment to positively communicate with the international human rights system and keenness to complete its democratic institutions and provide protection to human rights.
