
Border guards in Rosetta city of Beheira governorate on the Mediterranean Sea thwarted on Sunday an attempt by 13 people from various nationalities to illegally immigrate to Italy.
The 13 people were arrested. Among them were Egyptians, Sudanese and Somalis.
They said that they had agreed with two people to help them infiltrate to Italy via Mediterranean coast in return for USD 1,000 for each.
The prosecution was notified for investigations.
