
Cairo governorate signed on Tuesday a cooperation protocol with the American University in Cairo (AUC).
Under the protocol, Cairo governorate will benefit from the AUC's expertise in the fields of urban development, real estate management, heritage protection, solid waste management and social activities planning.

Acting Cairo governor Ahmed Taymour signed the protocol with Thomas E. Thomason, the AUC Interim Ad President.
Taymour said AUC has always played a role for upgrading the social culture in addition to its academic role.
He said the protocol will open new vistas of cooperation in various domains.
Thomason said the protocol would get Cairo to be a research and educational mainstay and this would create joint interests and projects between Cairo governorate and the AUC.
