RCO takes part in Al Azhar Jerusalem conference.
Cairo - Arab Today

Upon directives from HM the King’s Personal Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs and Board of Trustees Chairman of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO), HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and under the patronage of Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, RCO Secretary-General, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed took part in Al-Azhar International Conference to Support Jerusalem, co-organised by Al-Azhar and Council of Muslim Elders.
RCO’s participation affirms the firm stances of the Bahraini leadership, government and people in support of the just Palestinian cause, Dr. Al-Sayed said.
It is also a continuation of the kingdom’s principled supportive stances towards the brotherly Palestinian people in order to help them realize their aspirations of setting up their independent state, with Jerusalem as its capital, he added.
The conference, attended by senior Arab, Islamic and international figures from 86 countries and high-profile international organisations, featured many sessions devoted to reaffirming the Arab identity of Jerusalem and the legitimacy of the Palestinian cause.
In their final communiqué, the participants recommended the recognition of Jerusalem as the eternal capital of the Palestinian State.
The conferees also adopted a proposal by Al-Azhar to designate 2018 as the year of Al-Quds (Jerusalem).
Following directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and under the leadership of HH Shaikh Nasser, RCO had established a public library in Jerusalem in a distinguished location overlooking the Al-Aqsa Mosque, as part of the kingdom’s unwavering efforts to preserve the Arab identity of Jerusalem and support the brotherly Palestinian people.
