Jeddah - Arab Today

A fine of SR150 will be imposed on those who indulge in inappropriate acts such as spitting or throwing trash from their vehicles onto streets, according to the Directorate General of Traffic.
The traffic police will immediately fine if they find anyone committing such acts, said a local media report. “It is mandatory for citizens and residents to cooperate and respect standards of public behavior,” said the police.
It said that spitting and throwing trash out of cars are in the fourth category of traffic violations and the fine is between SR100 and SR150.
According to sources, the Traffic Department was receiving complaints and suggestions from citizens demanding punishment for litterbugs.
