
The President of the Supreme Judiciary Council (SJC) and Chairman of the Court of Cassation, Salem bin Mohammed Al-Kawwari, received the National Institution of Human Rights (NIHR)'s Chairman Dr. Abdulaziz Hassan Abul who presented a copy of the NIHR annual report.
Al-Kawari said the Supreme Judiciary Council and the National Institution of Human Rights were proceeding forward in consolidating and spreading the culture and values of human rights as part of their joint work.
He also stressed the keenness of the Supreme Judiciary Council regarding the recommendations of the report which it would study particularly regarding the performance of the judiciary as part of its development strategy.
Al-Kawwari added that the independence of the judiciary authority and its transparency ensure the consecration of the principles of human rights and maintain the dignity of litigants.
He also praised the work of the Institution of Human Rights which contributes to achieving the national ambitions of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
