His Majesty the King’s Advisor for Information Affairs Nabeel bin Yacoub Al-Hamer today met in Cairo Al-Ahram Chairman and Egypt Journalists’ Union Chief Abdul Mohsen Salama. He also met Al-Ahram editor-in-chief Ala’a Thabet, Al-Ahram Al-Arabi editor-in-chief Jamal Al-Kashki, the editorial staff, and Al-Ahram Cultural Festival Chairman Ahmed Ibrahim Amer.

Al-Hamer commended the role played by Al-Ahram in disseminating enlightenment in the region, as a pioneering institution, and congratulated them on festivities marking the 142nd anniversary of the newspaper. He conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to Al-Ahram journalists and thanked them for the initiative of Al-Ahram Al-Arabi to issue a supplement, marking Bahrain’s National Day, and select the King as "King of Peace".
He conveyed HM the King’s appreciation for choosing Manama to hold Al-Ahram Cultural Festival, themed "Together we defeat terrorism", in February, under the royal patronage. Abdulmohsen Salama lauded deep-rooted relations binding Egypt and Bahrain, stressing the importance of consolidating media communication, exchanging delegations and training programmes.
Ala’a Thabet hailed strong bilateral relations, paying tribute to HM the King for supporting Egypt’s leadership and people, saying that the security of Egypt is inseparable from Bahrain, the GCC countries and the region. Jamal Kashki extended deep thanks to HM the King for lauding Al-Ahram Al-Arabi, which celebrated the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He stressed the royal praise for the magazine for its role in building bridges of confidence between Egypt, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab states, being a crucial tool of the press which promotes diplomacy to consolidate pan-Arab ties.
