Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development and Chairman of the General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare, has stressed that the continuous success of the Open Sports Festival of the Armed Forces Officers Club is considered a true reflection of the nation’s support for sports and athletes, while noting that the sports sector in the UAE is witnessing its brightest era, due to the generous support of the wise leadership.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak highlighted that the 21st Open Sports Festival of the Armed Forces Officers Club is witnessing exceptional support from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation.

He also praised the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, for the sports festival.

Sheikh Nahyan said that the UAE sports sector has greatly benefitted from this annual sporting event, which is considered an opportunity for competitors of the national teams of every individual and group sport to interact with foreign players, enhancing their performance.

He added that the 21-year continuity of this championship has proven its success by becoming a historical event and achieving many successes for the UAE in different sports.

He added that the Open Sports Festival provides an opportunity for individual sports competitors to interact in a positive manner, and he also hoped to see this in the audiences of different courts.

He praised the role of the supreme committee organising the sporting festival, chaired by Lt. General Mohammed Hilal Sorour Al Kaabi, while wishing the UAE’s sports sector every success and prosperity.
