Speaker of the Arab Parliament Ahmed Al Jarawan
Cairo - Arab Today

Speaker of the Arab Parliament Ahmed Al Jarawan sounded the alarm against the Israeli schemes in Al Quds and the Israeli occupation government's protection of settlers who daily attack worshipers in the holy mosque of Al Aqsa.

In a statement released on Monday on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of Al Aqsa Mosque fire, Jarawan said this painful memory requires a move by the UN Security Council, especially the permanent members, to shoulder their responsibility towards the serious aggression of the occupation government. They should oblige the Israeli government to apply UN Security Council Resolution No.271 demanding a cancellation of all Israeli measures taken on the ground.

He called on UNESCO and relevant international organizations to bear their responsibilities towards halting the continued Israeli offensive on Jerusalem and its sanctuaries.

The Arab lawmaker also asked for dispatching a fact-finding committee by UN secretary-general to be posted on the situation on the ground in the holy city and the digging operations conducted under the sacred mosque.

He also called on Arab countries to fulfill their commitments towards implementation of special resolutions relevant to supporting Jerusalemites to support their steadfastness in the face of the Israeli schemes to judaize their city.
