Beirut - Arab Today

President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, received on Wednesday Minister of Displaced, Talal Arslan, and tackled with him the political developments and the most-heated topics on the local scene, including the salary scale, the tax law and the Budget.

Arslan briefed President Aoun on the completion of the draft law he prepared to eliminate the Ministry of Displaced, and the measures to be taken in this regard.

On a different note, Aoun welcomed the head of Argentina's Armenian Ramgavar party, Sergio Nahabetian, and an accompanying delegation, with talks touching on an array of general issues.

The Argentinean official underlined the importance of the Lebanese community in Argentina and the ongoing cooperation between its members.

Aoun later received the head of the Banking Supervision Committee, Samir Hamoud, and members of the committee, who presented to the President the first version of the annual report issued for the first time 50 years after the committee's establishment.

Hammoud pointed out that the report contains a summary of the work done by the Committee during the year 2016, with an overview of the general situation in the banking sector.

The 100-page report also presents the administrative structure of the Committee and its departments. It has been issued both in Arabic and English
