Riyadh - SPA

The Saudi Commission for Wildlife said that it has been agreed with its counterparts in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Arab States in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Qatar to allow the passage and movement of hawks among the GCC states, except Oman, without the need for permits each time, by Hawks' passports issued by the executive authorities of Convention on International Trade in Endangered Fungal Organisms and their Products (CITES) in these countries, starting from 06/11/1435 AH corresponding to 01/09/2014 AD for the purpose of participating in festivals, competitions and treatment of hawks.
Prince Bandar bin Saud bin Mohammed, Chairman of Saudi Commission for Wildlife pointed out that these measures have been taken by the competent authorities in the GCC countries to facilitate for the owners of hawks to move between Member States for several times without the need to obtain movement permits each time as it was practiced before, noting that does not mean allowing to practice hunting in any of these states.
