An investigation committee has been set up at the Ministry of Transport following a derailment of a train linking Algiers to Thenia near the rail station of Hussein Dey.
“Following the derailment on Wednesday morning of a train linking Algiers to Thenia near the railway station of Hussein Dey and following the instructions of Transport minister, an investigation committee has been set up under the supervision of the general inspectorate,” said a ministerial communiqué.
For its part, the National Company of Railway Transport (SNTF) set up a second committee at its level, added the communiqué, underlining that one joint emergency committee was set up to monitor the evacuation operations of the train debris from the accident site and to repair the damaged railway line for the reopening of rail traffic.
