The first analyses of the traffic data recorders (black boxes) of the train linking Algiers to Thenia, which derailed Wednesday morning at the entrance of Hussein Dey station, show that the accident is due to a “human factor”, said Thursday the ministerial investigation panel in its preliminary report.
According to the investigation’s initial findings, “following the first readings of the traffic data recorders (black boxes), it seems like the derailment was caused by the speeding of the train as soon as it reached the diverted track , recorded at 108km/h while the required speed on a diverted track is limited to 30km/h,” added the report.
