His Majesty Sultan Qaboos has released more than 190 inmates to join their families for Eid, according to a statement by the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

"On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr 1438, His Majesty the Sultan issues a special amnesty for 192 inmates of convicted prisoners in various cases," the ROP said.

According to an official source at the ROP, 192 inmates were given amnesty, of which 92 of them where foreign nationals.

The High Pardon comes from His Majesty the Supreme Leader coinciding with the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and taking into account the families of these inmates.
