Five Houthi militants were killed in an attack by the Yemeni army on their site at the presidential palace in eastern Taiz.
A sixth militant was killed when government troops countered an attack by the militias in the vicinity of Mount Han western Taiz.
Fierce clashes erupted Sunday night after the militias attacked a military post on Mount Han.
The media center of the military council in Taiz said that the militias also raided a number of residential areas in el Moshki neighborhood in the east of Taiz, wounding three civilians, one seriously.
Military posts in Mabqana directorate were also shelled by the militias, the center added.
