Khartoum - KUNA

Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir discussed on Saturday with Qatari Foreign Minister Khaled Mohammad Al-Attiyah issues of mutual concern and ways to develop bilateral relations. Sudanese news agency (SUNA) said the meeting also highlighted a number of topics on political, communication, and economic cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, which was attended by high ranking officials from both sides, the Qatari minister underlined the deep rooted relations between the two countries. Qatar had recently approved USD one billion grant to Sudan, the second donation to Sudan's central Bank to support economic reform and budget deficit in the country. Sudan in recent days witnessed protests in various parts of the country due to government decision to end support to fuel subsidies.
