
In a phone call on Wednesday with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi offered condolences over the death of the Russian ambassador in Turkey who was shot dead on Monday.
Sisi expressed Egypt’s solidarity with Russia in the face of terror.
Sisi asserted the importance of rallying international efforts to combat terror.
Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said that Putin thanked Sisi, asserting the strength of the Egyptian-Russian ties.
Putin added that Russia is willing to resume regular flights between Cairo and Moscow soon.
