The recent official visit of King Mohammed VI to South Sudan is appreciated at its true value by the broad prospects it opens for bilateral cooperation in various fields, first vice-president of South Sudan, Taban Deng Gai, said on Tuesday in Geneva.

Speaking in a meeting with Minister of Justice and Freedoms Mustapha Ramid, the South Sudanese official said that the royal visit to Juba “is in itself an important message to Africa and the world reflecting His Majesty’s determination to defend the common action and the development cause in the continent”.

He explained that the kingdom will accompany his country in various projects, such as the construction of a new capital, the development of the banking sector and the promotion of mechanisms of reconciliation and accountability.

During this meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 34th session of the UN Human Rights Council, emphasis was on the importance of increased coordination and mutual support internationally and within multilateral institutions.
