Rescue cases using phone tracking jump more than 4 fold in Seoul

People rescued by emergency services with the aid of phone tracking surged four-fold in the past five years, a lawmaker said Saturday citing data. Rep. You Dae-woon of the main opposition Democratic Party said, according to the data by the National Emergency Management Agency, there were 3,854 cases of successful rescue work by emergency staff using tracking devices on mobile phones, four times the 953 instances in 2008.
