Russian President Vladimir Putin met today with members of Russia's security Council.
A spokesman for the Russian Presidency, Dmitri Peskov, said today that the meeting focused on the scope of settling the Syrian crisis. The council also discussed a number of internal affairs. The spokesman said that this will be the last meeting of its kind in 2016.
Peskov said that Russia and Turkey are in constant contact over negotiations on Syria that are likely to take place mid-January in Kazakhstan's Astana. The negotiations will be over finding a political resolution to the Syrian crisis.
On a reported ceasefire agreement between Turkey and Russia, Peskov said The Kremlin doesn't have enough information on the matter.
