The Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) has a new Premier, as Gladys Berejiklian was chosen in a party room vote to succeed outgoing premier Mike Baird on Monday.
The former treasurer of the state was elected without contest for the position, with Finance Minister Dominic Perrottet to serve as her deputy.
Speaking to 2GB, Berejiklian said she is "still getting used to the title", and is proud of how hard she has worked to get where she is today.
Baird was full of platitudes for Berejiklian, and said "The state of NSW should be very pleased and delighted with Ms Berejiklian's appointment."
Berejiklian will be sworn in at a ceremony to be held later today.
