Abu dhabi - Arab Today

Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company, Masdar, has launched its fifth annual international 'Engage' blogging contest ahead of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, ADSW, 2017, in January.

Under the theme, "Technology for a Sustainable Future", the competition invites contestants from all over the world to share their views on the clean technologies that they believe can make a difference in mitigating climate change over the next decade.

The digital debate specifically seeks a response to a definitive question based on a landmark global survey of youth attitudes towards renewable energy, sustainability and climate change commissioned by Masdar to mark its 10-year anniversary in 2016.

Dr. Nawal Al-Hosany, Masdar’s Executive Director for Sustainability and Brand, said, "The results of Masdar’s 'Gen Z' Global Sustainability Survey revealed that today’s youth are very concerned about climate change and want a stronger say on sustainability issues."

The writer of the winning entry will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Abu Dhabi, and will be Masdar’s guest VIP social media influencer during ADSW in January. In addition to visiting Masdar City and its projects within the UAE, and top tourist attractions in Abu Dhabi. The winner will have the opportunity to network among an audience of around 35,000 sustainability professionals attending ADSW.
