The civil defence teams in Dubai have doused a light fire that erupted at the Address Hotel Dubai at Dubai Mall in a record time without any injuries.
Expert and Lt. Col. Ali Al Mutawa, Director of Operations at the Department of Civil Defence told Emirates News Agency (WAM) in a statement that the cause of the fire on the roof was the short circuit in one of the apartments in the 26th floor, and was brought under control in record time.
He praised the professionalism of the security and safety staff at the hotel who quickly evacuated the residents of the 26th floor.
The Media Office of the Government of Dubai confirmed through its Twitter account that "the situation has been restored to normal after the fire was brought under control," describing it as limited incident.
