
Two armed men were killed and two soldiers were injured in an exchange of fire in the Eastern Al-Beqaa region, the Lebanese Army Command said in a statement Thursday. A military intelligence patrol was in pursuit of a vehicle carrying four suspected militants and explosives when an exchange of fire occurred in Hosh Al-Harima neighborhood in Al-Beqaa. The statement added that two soldiers were wounded during the operation, while two militants who were killed and their identity were unknown, noting that one of them was wearing an explosive belt. The statement noted that inside the car the army found different types of explosive materials estimated to be weighing about 250 kilograms in addition to fuse detonators.
