
Vice President Khodair al-Khuzaie discussed with Iran's new president Hassan Rohani the development of relations between the two countries and the political situation in the region. A statement by the Office of the Vice President of the Republic cited today that " he confirmed, during the meeting with Rohani, that Iraq is looking forward to building better relations with its neighbor Iran, and expressed Iraq's readiness to provide all diplomatic efforts to contribute in finding a peaceful solution to Iran's nuclear program." For his part, the Iranian president stressed his country's keenness to develop relations with Iraq in all areas and his country's support to the unity, stability and security in Iraq. On the other hand, Vice President, al-Khuzaie discussed with Iran's national security chief Saeed Jalili, the political situation in the region and the development of relations between the two countries.
