
An international conference on extremism and Takfiri ideology opened in Amman on Tuesday to discuss means to correct misconceptions about a number of issues through which extremists try to distort the image of Islam.
The conference, which is organized by the General Iftaa Department, also aims to strengthen relations among Muslim scholars all over the world.
The two-day meeting will be attended by Muslim scholars as well as experts and researchers from Arab, Islamic and foreign countries including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Yemen, Lebanon, Thailand, Austria, Dagestan , France, Ukraine, Sweden, Pakistan, Nigeria, Niger, Morocco, Malaysia, Kuwait and Iraq.
The participants will discuss in four sessions 16 papers means to counter extremism and Takfiri ideology and unify efforts and coordination to address their threats.
