The German Defence Ministry on Wednesday denied the allegations that German special forces were participating in tasks in the northern part of Syria.
A spokesman for the ministry underlined in a statement to the (dpa) news agency that the reports are incorrect. The Syrian government earlier on Wednesday claimed that German and French special forces were present in the northern part of the country, according to the Syrian news agency (SANA).
Damascus' allegations follow claims by some media and activists that German and French militaries are based in northern Syrian areas where the Kurdish forces are fighting ISIS militants.
