GCC officials meet Russian counterpart

A number of GCC Foreign Ministers and officials, including Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, met late Thursday with their Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmad bin Mohammad Al-Khalifa said that the meeting, held on the sideline of the 68th UN General Assembly, was very important, adding that political and strategic relations were discussed during the gathering. He noted that an upcoming strategic dialogue meeting between GCC Foreign Ministers and Lavrov would be held next November in Bahrain. Also attending the meeting was GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani who told KUNA that the meeting also touched on issues of mutual interest.
