
Countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council held a session of talks with the People's Republic of China at the GCC mission headquarters in New York. The GCC side was chaired by the Foreign Minister of Bahrain Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmad bin Mohammad Al Khalifa, chairman of the current session of the GCC Ministerial Council, in presence of GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani. The Chinese side was chaired by Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The two sides discussed ways of enhancing relations and strengthening cooperation between the GCC countries and China in all areas. The Chinese Minister stressed the Chinese leadership keenness to develop the strategic dialogue with the GCC countries in the political, economic and cultural domains. He underlined China's keenness to support the efforts made by the GCC countries to achieve peace and security in the region. The two sides also reviewed regional and international developments and issues of common interest.
