Bruno Le Roux, chief of the Socialist Party in France's lower house of parliament will replace Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve who was appointed as new primer minister, French President Francois Hollande's office said on Tuesday.
Andre Vallini was named Junior minister for Relations with Parliament, and Jean-Marie Le Guen was named secretary of state for Development and Francophonie, while Hollande has kept faith with the other members of the government, it added.
Earlier on Tuesday, Hollande named Cazeneuve to head his executive staff until a new president is elected next May.
The government's minor reshuffle was prompted by the resignation of Prime Minister Manuel Valls, who announced on Monday his candidacy for the socialist nomination in preparation for the 2017 presidential election.
