Nasr, WB officials discuss support offered to projects
Cairo - MENA

Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr on Saturday discussed with World Bank officials support offered by the bank for the second phase of the sewage system project, which is co-funded by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

This came during Nasr's meeting with Vice President of the WB for the Middle East and North Africa Hafez Ghanem along with WB Vice President for Equitable Growth, Finance and Institutions Jan Walliser on the sidelines of the WB annual meetings in Washington.

Nasr, during the meeting, reviewed the government's economic reform efforts as well as a number of projects undertaken in the fields of transport and education.

The meeting took up WB contributions to pushing forward micro-sized funding in Egypt.

Ghanem, for his part, described economic reforms adopted by Egypt as impressive, stressing the bank's full support for Egypt with a view to pumping new investments rapidly in the field of infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Nasr conferred with Managing Director and World Bank Group Chief Administrative Officer, Shaolin Yang for talks on procedures of signing the third tranche of the WB three-billion-dollar loan.
