A Kuwaiti delegation has concluded a visit to the US during which they held "fruitful and constructive" meetings with senior officials in yet another bid to repatriate Kuwaiti prisoners in Guantanamo to their country, Kuwait's Ambassador said. The delegation, which consisted of physicians, security and legal experts, visited Kuwaiti inmates Fayez Al-Kanderi and Fayez Al-Ouda in Guantanamo and made sure they were in good health, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Sabah told KUNA Saturday. He said the delegation also met with senior officials at the Pentago, State Department, Justice Department and national security authority. Sheikh Salem said the delegation's visit came after His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's "successful" visit to Washington and his meeting with President Barack Obama, during which the Amir underlined importance of closing the Kuwaiti prisoners' file and their return to their country. His Highness the Amir is attaching great attention to the cause of Al-Kanderi and Al-Ouda, said Sheikh Salem, and was personally following up their case. He said the delegation's talks with the American officials were "fruitful and constructive," and were part of Kuwait's relentless efforts to release the two citizens. The two sides, added the ambassador, agreed to continue their discussions in a drive to release the citizens, whose cause is one of the highest priorities of the Kuwaiti leadership and top priority for the embassy.
