Dar Al Ber Society (DABS) has contributed AED 500,000 to the UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia), an entity under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation.
The key drive, meant to turn the anti-poverty and illness global initiatives into a reality, is focusing more on providing pure drinking water to indigent and devastated people worldwide.
Abdullah Ali bin Zayed, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber Society, handed over the cheque to Mohammed Abdulkareem Al Shamsi, Acting Executive Director - WAF, on behalf of Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Secretary General - Suqia.
Present were Mansour Bahrozyan, Financial Controller – Suqia, Khalid Al Tamimi, Head of Media & Communication – DABS, and a number of senior officials at the headquarters of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).
Paying tributes to kind gesture, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Head of Suqia's Board of Trustees, said all humanitarian entities in the country should cooperate to enhance and promote the image of the UAE as a capital of giving.
"UAE Water Aid is aimed to achieve sustainable development by adopting viable solutions to the problem of water shortage around the globe in collaboration with national entities," he said, thanking Dar Al Ber for its relentless effort and ceaseless white hands.
Bin Zayed said Dar Al Ber spares no effort to support charity projects locally and abroad. "Such dedication boosts the position of the country in terms of aid, and relieves disadvantaged people as directed by our prudent leadership."
The Dh500,000 contribution has been allotted for supporting drinking water projects in a number of deprived countries, he added. "Water is inevitable in the process of development anywhere."
