
Presidency of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation has passed from Kyrgyzstan to Russia, Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev told delegates on Monday. “Under tradition, the next chairmanship in the charter bodies goes to the Russian Federation, and I delegate the chairmanship of the CSTO Collective Security Council to the President of the Russian Federation,” Atambayev said. Russian leader Vladimir Putin thanked the Kyrgyz side for its work during the CSTO Presidency.Before the meeting, the President of the Russian Federation on the rights of the owner of the summit was welcoming the leaders of the CSTO member states near the sanatorium, where the event takes place. He alternately shook hands and exchanged a few words with the leaders that attend the summit representing Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
