
German Ambassador to Lebanon, Christian Clages, gave a reception on Thursday evening marking Germany's unity day, at the Biel center in Beirut. Germany celebrates unity day on October 3, commemorating its reunification in 1990. The ceremony was attended by Caretaker Economy Minister, Nicolas Nahhas, representing President of the Republic, Michel Sleiman, and Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, as well as Deputy, Ali Bazzi, representing Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri. Also attending the ceremony were Caretaker Information Minister, Walid Daouk, Caretaker Industry Minister, Vreij Sabonjian, and scores of diplomatic, political, military and religious dignitaries. In his delivered word, Ambassador Clages wished Lebanon success in overcoming its crisis, voicing commitment to bolstering bilateral Lebanese-German relations at all levels
