Chinese Foreign Minister: Beijing paying more attention to Middle East

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said his country is paying more attention to the Middle East region.

Beijing is acting to solve all difficulties and problems facing Middle East countries, Wang told reporters on the sidelines of his recent tour of the region, according to Xinhua news agency.

Wang had visited Tunisia and Qatar during his Middle East tour earlier this month.

He made it clear that China's experience in handling Middle East issues has made it more aware that development is key to solving all problems.

Many Chinese investors are contributing to the reconstruction process in Iraq, Wang said, adding that his country will do its best to help revive the economies of Syria and Libya.
